Lunchtime assistant
Hours of work: 12.00 – 13.45
Monday – Friday, term time only: Salary: Grade 16 Spinal Points 7-8

We are looking to appoint 2 lunchtime assistants.  Working as part of the existing lunchtime team you will be responsible for supervising all children whilst they eat their lunch and enjoy their play. 

The successful applicant will:

  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Be reliable and conscientious
  • A team player
  • Have experience of establishing positive relationships with children
  • Manage behaviour in line with the schools policy
  • Have an enthusiasm for and an active interest in children’s welfare and play
  • Engage pupils in purposeful activity during the lunchtime (during both good weather and ‘wet’ lunchtimes)
  • Be able to use their initiative and be open to new ideas
  • Promote healthy eating and well-being

PRIMARY SCHOOL  – Receptionist/Administrator

West Monkton is a primary school is on the edge of Taunton and is a 420 place school on a new site, with a 42 place Nursery Setting.  The school is looking for an efficient and effective Receptionist/Administrator to join the team.

We require a highly-motivated member of staff to join our hard-working and friendly staff team.  This is an exciting opportunity to assist the School Business Manager and Headteacher in continuing to shape the administrative and Front of House side of the school.   The successful applicant will be an integral member of the administrative team and will act as the first point of contact with our stakeholders, parents and visitors.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • To provide a fully effective and efficient reception for all staff, visitors, pupils and parents making contact with the school, whether this is via telephone, in person or e-mail.  This includes signing in systems
  • To provide full administrative support to the school office and wider school as directed.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head teacher and School Business Manager in the role of Deputy Head, as part of the Strategic Leadership Team focused on achieving the governors’ long term vision for our school.

The Deputy Head will take the lead on ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning which will include delegated responsibility for:

The ability to get on and work with people within an Early Years team and wider school community   is essential.   To provide safe high quality education and care for young children. To act as a key person to a small group of children, planning and assessing for their individual needs is vital. To possess excellent communication skills and be able to liaise closely and effectively building strong relationship with parents/carers.

Qualifications: level 3 (minimum) or level 2 (will be excepted to be working towards level 3 qualification) nursery practitioner.  GCSE Maths and English grade C or above required. SENCO, child protection and first aid qualifications.
